ABOUT THE ORPHANAGE

As many as 33 children have lived at the special needs orphanage at one time.

The orphanage is a 3-bedroom apartment; one of the bedrooms is used for storage and an office.

The price for a cleft palate surgery is $2,100 USD.

The orphanage celebrated 20 years in 2016.

It costs $85 per child each month for food.

In China, you must pay for a medical procedure before it is performed.

One goal is to start a kindergarten for special needs children.

Obtaining a first floor apartment would be helpful for children in wheelchairs.

Financial resources are needed to provide for medical care.

Some cleft-palate children require a speech therapist.

Some children need a physical therapist.

An additional worker is needed for the orphanage.

Establishing funds to send older children to a trade school or college so they can become independent.

In India the normal public education ends after the 10th grade. The 11th grade is called plus 1 and the 12th grade is called plus 2.

Without going to the 11th and 12th grades, a child will never be able to attend college, or have a desirable job. Churches in Germany have been supporting these 8 orphans, and they know it is common for a child’s education to end after the 10th grade.

The churches have decided to end their support of these 8 orphans, and now Global Partners in Life has been asked to fill the void to meet the needs of these orphans that can’t provide for themselves.
